“I eat really well until about 7pm and then I just binge like crazy.  I know I should stop eating but I don’t.  Not sure how to replace my emotional and mindless eating.”

Here is the good news and bad news about the issue this reader shared here:  No diet alone will address this and no diet will address this.

Here’s what I mean.  When you go on a diet you sign up for some rules.  You follow them or you don’t.  You do the diet or you don’t.  Rules require will power to follow – until they become habits.  Habits take a long time to form – and that is if you let them form.  (Your brain is working against your new habits, which also doesn’t help!)

Trying to rely on willpower night after night is setting you up for an eventual fall.  We get tired.  We only have so much will power each day.  We have hard days that we want to eat over – It happens.

Here is the deal.  There is no replacement for emotional and mindless eating.  There is only awareness.   Address the mind, address the emotions.  What is the mind wanting to disconnect or take a break from?  What is the emotion that the food is covering up or trying to create?

The answers are there, and only you have them.  They are waiting for you when you are ready for them.  Go have a visit, see what you find.
