Empty Spaces

The Dixie Chicks were constantly telling us they needed “Wide Open Spaces.” I think they were on to something…

In her book “The Happiness Project” Gretchen Rubin talks about the happiness that one empty shelf can bring, and equally, an empty drawer.  Something about the decadence of unused space, just sitting there being all luxurious and open with itself.

Brooke Castillo talks about allowing space within our bodies, not constantly filling them up with food.  Is that decadent?  Is that what the Dixie Chicks had in mind?  I don’t know, but I do know that I like the idea of space, pretty much any kind of space.  Outer space, holding space, my new office space, the space your personal bubble takes up.

Where could you use a little more space.  Where would less really be more.  Where could you stop filling, doing, busying, scurrying and hurrying and just let it be.

That was the Beatles.  Let it be, let it be.  …there will be an answer, let it be.

How would it feel not to be full?

Please leave your comments below, thanks!
