Take parallel action.
I assume you don’t know what I mean – because I didn’t know what I mean.
It goes like this:
- I’m going to do x once y wraps up.
- When I get the garage cleaned out then I will start my diet.
- Once the kids are in school then I will take care of me.
- As soon as I get my closet cleaned out, then I will buy some clothes that fit.
Remember how Monday never comes? (I know I yelled at you then, but I was so excited!) Well, it still isn’t coming. So, what do we do about it?
We take parallel action.
You are strong enough to do two things at once. You have the guts to work on you and do a great job at work. Your husband can learn to eat what you need to eat to get the results you want (or he can learn to cook, win-win!).
What are you waiting to do?
Buy clothes? Scrapbook your Australia pictures? Sell the pile of dusty stuff on the 3rd shelf in the garage?
And then what? What will that give you?
Let’s pretend you do that thing, you move that action item forward, you check it off your list and voila! Magic!
What is the magic? What are you waiting to do/feel/have so that you can _______?
Please let me know, I’m dying to hear what is more important to you than you.
With (a touch of the tough) love,
Caryn
