Yesterday I had an experience that made me think of you. First, the backstory.

In October I was at a friends in Santa Cruz. She had a beautiful post card about a retreat she and a 2015-10-26 14.26.56friend were leading. It was for women on leadership. I had one of those “I want to do that” moments. I don’t think I told her, but I told myself.

Fast forward to yesterday. Friend calls, needs someone to co-lead the retreat with her. Would I like to do it? Excitement and confetti, right?!

Nope. I chose to decline – and then sit in the feelings of not getting to do what I wanted to do – all day. Restless. Confused. Annoyed. … Thankful? Yes.

It took me awhile, and some self coaching, and some dark chocolate I hadn’t planned on after lunch – but I am thankful that I said “No, thank you.” I’m thankful because I needed to sit with what THIS feels like. What it feels like to say I want something, have the universe deliver it, and not be ready.

Ouch.

Why did this make me think of you? It’s that thing we all do with good ideas, dreams, and intentions. We put them out there, out in the future. The place where magic happens, we have more free time… we never get to!

There is a gap between where I was in October and where I am today – and another gap between where I am today and where I need to be so that I can say “Yes!” to the things I want when they show up for me – on a silver f’ing platter!

So my question for you is: What have you said you wanted – that you haven’t made room for yet? That your brain, your calendar, or your life doesn’t have space for yet?

What is so good that you longed for it once and STILL haven’t made the room. We need to “Field of Dreams” that stuff. If we build it, they will come. 😉

What if you woke up tomorrow and were 22 pounds lighter – would your life be ready for that?

Do you have room to be the person you think you will be 22 pounds from now? You always think she is up to better things than you are – so what are those things and how can you start doing them. Today.
