The Most You-est of You

The theme of the week seems to be the desire to be seen as normal.  A lot of my clients want to get this normal thing right and at times I do too (though, less and less every month…).  So, I wanted to check in with you about this wild desire to be the same as we think every one else is.

One of my favorite ideas I remind myself of, and introduce others to, is this:

We are judging the insides of ourselves against the outsides of other people.

I don’t remember where I first learned that, but it has always stuck with me as the most crazy race in the world!  We will never know if we are doing it right, always assume that we aren’t, and never get there – because we don’t know where ‘there’ is!

I believe that it is each of our main jobs in life to become the “Most me I can be.”  No one else is going to do it, no one has the skills, the experiences, or the ideas that you have.  If you don’t do it, who will?!

So this week I hope you think about turning the ‘me’ up a notch, just to see what that looks and feels like.  Maybe you’ll get a different response from people around you, or not… It could be that everyone else is so caught up in the search for their normal that they won’t even notice!

Have fun, the most you can lose is gaining some of yourself.
