Now that we are through Thanksgiving here in the States, we need to talk about feelings!

You’re all full of food and feelings, am I right?  There is no better time of year to have big feelings and stuffed bellies than at the family Thanksgiving table!

So, I want you to think about that toast at dinner.

The knife clinking on the side of the glass.  Do you remember if it was dull or high pitched?  Did it resonate for awhile or was it more of a clunk-clunk?

Now, imagine your body is like that glass.

When you fill it up – and you go through life bumping into situations and opportunities are you more like a cling…-cling…?  Or that cluck-clunk?

Our bodies are a lot like that toasting glass.  When we are full of food our emotions are dull – life can happen and we feel it, but not as powerfully or intensely.

When we allow ourselves to feel hunger there is also more room to feel other feelings in bigger ways.

Being the empty glass can be really uncomfortable – not because it’s painful, but because it is unfamiliar.

I had a client this week describe it as “vacant” and “empty.”  I don’t know about you but both of those words make me want to immediately go and get something to fill the void!

So, what if instead of vacant and scary, it was clear and exciting?

That is what ending overeating does.  It lets you feel your life again – in bigger more cling…-cling… kind of ways.

Big love,

Caryn
