Goals do not equal habits.

(Thank you Sarah Von Bargen!  It’s so simple, yet, hadn’t crossed my mind so simply.)

People get to goal weight all the time and then gain it all back.  They hit their GOAL, then give up many of the behaviors that got them there, they didn’t turn them into HABITS or they did, but then gave them up.

It’s not like the goal of buying a house where you do it, then you check the box and move on and live in your house paying your mortgage instead of living in your rental paying rent.  Losing weight may come off the list, but maintaining weight loss has to take its place.

I know that’s not fun or flashy, but it is the truth.

What are the habits that hep you maintain your goals?  That is THE question.  What are you doing that you are willing to keep doing?  What ways of being and doing do you want to ride to goal weight and then keep?

It’s a different way of looking at it.  You can lose a bunch of weight doing lots of different crazy things, but what things do you want to own as habits?

I want to know – tell me in the comments below.  Let’s keep this conversation going!
