I recently watched an episode of Oprah’s Super Soul Sunday that caught my attention – it was an interview with Jill Bolte Taylor, Ph. D., author of “My Stroke of Insight.”

I read the book five or six years ago and had really enjoyed it. I remember when I first read about her experience of recovering from a stroke this quote made so much sense to me, and I’ve held on to it since:

“Please take responsibility for the energy you bring into this space.”

This interview she caught me with this statement:

“If you don’t like how you feel, change your thoughts.”

That is what I do, it’s the heart of the coaching model I’ve been using and loving! She’s got it! No wonder I loved that book! I got excited, what can I say?! It’s Oprah!

The thoughts you are thinking may not be getting you the results you want. Conversely, the thoughts you are thinking may be making you feel fabulous and if you want to keep it that way or know how to get back to that great feeling – it helps if you know the thought that creates it. You don’t have to rely on outside circumstances to feel good – you don’t have to hope others act a certain way so you get to be happy. You gotta do happy by yourself – and you can. I freaking love this!

I’ll illustrate this in next weeks post, stay tuned and live like you mean it!
