A few months back, someone emailed me all these fantastic questions after reading my book (I love hearing from you by the way!)  After answering each one I had to ask her if I could share them with you because I imagine you have the same ones!

Here they are:

1) I’m trying to research. I want to know what I’m doing. Is it Clean eating, gluten free? Paleo? There are so many things out there I want to narrow it down so it’s not so overwhelming.

Honestly, it doesn’t really have a name!  If I were to give it one it would be High Fat, Low Carb, Intuitive Eating.

2) No white sugar. Is it as simple as saying no white sugar, or is it no sugar period? Brown sugar, sweeteners, sugar substitutes? Or this nutritional label says 3 grams of sugar, where does that fit into this, if at all? I think honey and agave are okay to eat right?

No sugar.  No caloric sweeteners those gets your brain wanting more.  As for things like stevia, you have to see what your body says – some people crave more sugar when they have fake sugar…  (That’s where the intuitive part comes in – you are tuning into your body in a whole new way and you are eliminating a lot of the louder “hangrier” messages by not having the added sweeteners.)

I think that paleo does agave and honey, I don’t recommend it for my clients.

3) White Flour. Does this mean no gluten? Or is like Dave’s Killer Bread all Organic whole wheat Good Seed bread ok? There is no white flour on the label but it is still “bread”.

What I mean by flour is nothing ground down into a powder.  So, no rice flour, whole wheat, white – anything that when it goes into your body pre-processed.  Your body has a heightened response to those which is what we’re trying to avoid.

We do this so that you can really enjoy foods in their more natural form.   Get satisfaction from foods that may feel “boring” right now – but are actually great for you and get you the results you want.  It’s an adjustment, I know!

4)  And is that “bread” considered a processed food? Or is processed food things like Hot Pockets and anything frozen and microwavable? Which isn’t a problem, I don’t own a microwave and don’t buy that crap anyways. What about canned goods? Or crackers?

Here’s where I’ll get coach-y on you.  What is the result you are trying to create?  Then let’s see how canned goods and crackers fit into that?
