Today I’m pulling out an old favorite, a tip from “The 4-Hour Workweek” by Timothy Ferriss. I mention this to clients and friends on the regular so I had to share it with you.
Complete your daily task or “to-do” by 11am, each day.
Not everything you have to do on any to-do list anywhere – but the 1 big or 2 smaller tasks that day. Complete them by it by 11am.
This does a number of things to let you off the hook:
- You have to be clear about your tasks, so you actually have to choose something to work on so that you can complete it.
- You are limiting your time so you have to limit the amount you can expect from yourself.
- You have to do it by 11am, so for the rest of the day anything else you get to – bonus! (This makes 8pm laundry WAY more fun!)
- You are free at 11. You’ve accomplished your goal. You’re set – have a nice day.
- You get to practice being successful. It feels good to accomplish things. Be proud of yourself!
So, what is the one thing you are going to accomplish by tomorrow at 11am?
Be well,
Caryn
